Edmonton shop RED The Agency is adopting the Brandish name following a merger with the Winnipeg-based agency.
Brandish said the move "significantly enhances" its brand, while boosting its presence in Western Canada. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded by partners Lee Waltham and Derek Elliott as a strategic consultancy in 2016, Brandish has grown to 25 people and works with clients in Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec.

Using a remote model, it has two employees in Toronto (where Waltham says a permanent office is "definitely on our agenda"), three apiece in Calgary and Montreal, and now three in Edmonton.
The merger with Red The Agency is the latest in a series of business transformations for the nearly seven-year-old agency. It repositioned itself as a creative agency last year, and recently added Alexandra Martin as a partner.
In 2021, it launched an investment development arm called Brandish Ventures that is currently working with three companies in the development phase and remains "continuously on the lookout" for additional opportunities.
RED The Agency was established in 2001, and is led by managing partner Lori Billey and senior strategist Randy Cronin. The agency has worked with brands including OK Tire, WCLC, the Edmonton Oilers, EPCOR, WorkSafe Alberta, AGLC and Alberta Innovates.
