Independent media planning and buying agency M&K Media has promoted Jill McDonald to president, reporting into co-CEOs Julie McIlroy and Julie King.
Since joining Toronto-based M&K Media in 2018, McDonald has spearheaded what the agency characterized as "significant growth" from both new and existing clients. Prior to joining M&K, she spent seven years at Starcom, and also held media roles at both the former Bos Advertising and Cossette.

In a release, M&K said that McDonald works with staff to generate "innovative and at times provocative" media plans supported by strong data insight and cost-effective media buys.
McDonald will continue in her role as a part-time professor at Humber College's Faculty of Business, where she teaches two post-graduate courses: Media strategies and planning, and media management planning, costing and buying traditional media.
"I am honoured to lead M&K Media into the future and to expand and diversify our offerings to grow our clients’ success," said McDonald. "We are committed to growing and mentoring our team and to impress clients, both current and future, who recognize the power of positive advertising and media."
McDonald will work with McIlroy and King to build upon the agency's values and success, but will also take a lead role in growing its offering and building on the founders' vision.
McIlroy and King will continue play an active role in the agency's business and growth, while acting in an advisory role across strategy, creative direction, quality control, and agency projects.
"We are delighted and grateful that Jill will lead the agency and know, based on proven experience, that she will do an amazing job,” said McIlroy in a release.
