Alyssa Huggins Joins Believeco:Partners As President

"Her North American experience will be of great value as we continue to scale Believeco,"  said executive chair Arlene Dickinson.

Just after marking its one-year anniversary, Believeco has hired Alyssa Huggins as president of its marketing division.

Huggins has worked in the industry for almost 25 years, getting her start in account management, and holding key executive roles, both agency and client side, over the past 10-plus years. Most recently, she was senior vice-president and general manager at Cossette.

Launched last November through the merger of Venture Play, Argyle, Brightworks, Zync, Revolve and Castlemain, Believeco describes itself as an “owner, operator and builder” of agencies. It provides a range of communications services, specializing in a number of different disciplines (from traditional advertising to PR) and consumer categories (including food and drink as well as Indigenous advisory through Castlemain).

“We are uniquely structured to deliver specialty areas and integrated solutions based on what our client needs are, without any barrier to collaboration across disciplines,” said Arlene Dickinson, executive chair at Believeco:Partners, and founder of Venture Play.

“Alyssa is a highly skilled leader with a dynamic background," said Dickinson. "She has a deep understanding of the needs of the business leaders we serve. Her North American experience will be of great value as we continue to scale Believeco.”

Believeco has offices across Canada, as well as in Chicago and Washington. Huggins, who started with Believeco on Monday, will work closely with Mark Carpenter, president of delivery at Believeco:Partnes.

Huggins has spent a large part of her career at Cossette (and previous parent company Vision7) over three different stops along her career path. Before her most recent stint with Cossette, she was vice-president, brand and integrated marketing for The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in Toronto, and spent just more than a year as VP of marketing for Pizza Pizza before that.

"Believeco is a Canadian-headquartered independent, at scale, and the chance to be part of this platform is an opportunity I couldn’t pass up,” said Huggins. “I’ve served clients regionally, nationally, and internationally and I’ve sat in their chair and understand the business and marketing pressures."
